The John Molson International Case Competition is the oldest, largest and most-respected international case competition in the world.
Each year, the best MBA students from 36 universities around the world attend the six-day competition. Selected members of our own MBA student body participate in this unique opportunity to showcase their talent, by applying concepts and theories that they have learned in class to a fast-paced, competitive problem-solving exercise that thoroughly challenges students’ knowledge base and communication skills.
As an excellent networking opportunity, the Case Competition puts students in contact with corporate executives and other students from around the globe. Celebrating its 35th anniversary from January 3rd to 8th, 2016, the Competition is organized by a team of John Molson MBA students, operating under the supervision of an academic advisor and an advisory board of business executives composed of CEOs, presidents, chairmen and vice-presidents of major multinational corporations. Raising funds, securing sponsorships, organizing the judges, recruiting international business schools and acquiring original cases for the competition are part of their responsibilities.
These activities enhance each organizing student’s cultural, academic and business experiences. If you are entrepreneurial, organizing the International Case Competition is a fantastic way to sharpen your skills and receive course credits in a non-academic environment. Very few MBA programs offer students such an opportunity to gain practical experience, while making so many contacts in the business community.
The event is one example of our strong links to the business community. Over 300 senior executives, from all sectors of industry, participate as judges who evaluate the creativity, insight and real-world applicability of the student strategy presentations.
