CHO means Buddha's teachings or Doctrine or Dharma. It can be subsumed under two categories:
- Scriptural teachings: The transmission of Buddha’s teachings extant in oral and scriptural form.

LING means a Centre where Buddha's doctrine is taught and practised

JAM TSE CHO LING stands for a place where everyone learns and practises Buddha Shakya Muni's precious teachings in order to cultivate and achieve good qualities such as loving-kindness, compassion, wisdom and other virtues, for the supreme enlightenment.

About the Founder and Spiritual Director:
A great scholar and teacher, H.E. Neten Tulku Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the 9th reincarnation of Neten Tulku, whose lineage can be traced back to the 11th Arhat, Phagpa Lamchung. Phagpa Lamchung was one of the 16 Arhat Buddha Shakyamuni personally selected from amongst his disciples and requested them to remain in the world protecting the Dharma until the time of the future Buddha Maitreya. About our Resident Teacher:
Geshe Trinley Gyatso (Geshe la) was born in Tibet. He received his Bhikshu vows from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. When he was 20 years old he travelled by foot from Tibet to India to join Sara Mey Monastery, one of the three great seats of learning centers. At this monastery Geshe la undertook 20 years of uninterrupted study of the entire monastic curriculum of the five Great Treatises and graduated with Geshe Lharampa (equiv. to PhD.) degree from Sera Mey Monastery. He then joined Gyumed Tantric Monastery to further his training of highest Yoga Tantra and its ritual practices and received Geshe Ngagramapa (Vajrayana) degree. After that, Geshe served his monastery in the capacity of administrator for 2 years and teacher/debate examiner for 3 years before coming to Canada.

In January 2014, Geshe la’s teacher H.E. Neten Tulku Rinpoche invited him to be our resident teacher. Therefore, due to the kindness of Neten Tulku Rinpoche and our good fortune, Calgary community now has the opportunity to study Buddha Dharma under one of the top scholars who graduated with highest ranks from both Sera Mey and Gyumey Tantric monasteries.

Geshe la is also available for private spiritual consultations, home blessing and prayers. For appointment please contact us.
