The purposes of the Association are to improve the Holstein breed; prepare, maintain and make available a genealogical record of the breed; and promote the best interests of breeders and owners of Holstein cattle in Canada.
The Association's history has spanned over 128 years. The first Holstein came to Canada in 1881, and in 1884 the Holstein-Friesian Association of Canada was established. It was incorporated nationally in 1901 and is the only organization authorized to register Holstein cattle in Canada.
