About the Foundation

The Foundation was incorporated in 1989 as a registered charity, Registration # 12678 1442 RR0001, with a commitment to raise funds for the betterment of our Hospital. Successful projects in the past include: an ultrasound machine, newborn equipment, a Medical Model Day Hospital addition, emergency and ambulatory equipment, electronic beds, a nurse call system, three palliative care rooms, and operating room equipment.

The Hanover and District Hospital Foundation is an active organization that is comprised of a volunteer board of directors that is proud to have strong community support for many events throughout the year. Some of these events include: a Dinner and Dream Auction Gala, raffles, Canada Day Barbecue, Christmas Tree Ornament Campaign, and the CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon. The funds raised are used to provide more than just basic hospital and health care services in a rural community like ours.

We have four current projects for 2014 that we are raising money for. Specifically these pieces of equipment include:
1) A Blood Bank Refridgerator ($4,000)
2) Urinalysis Analyzer with Bar Code Reader ($8,000)
3) Cast Removal Saw ($5,500)
4) External Fetal Monitor ($50,000)

Since the cost of this equipment is expensive the HDH Foundation is hoping to raise just over 67,000 for this year.
