United by their love of singing, the Halton Regional Police Service Chorus was formed in 1984 to spread holiday cheer to seniors and shut-ins throughout Halton Region.
The chorus is comprised of HRPS and community members who give freely of their time to promote harmony, goodwill and the Halton Regional Police Service.
The first major performance for the Halton Regional Police Service Chorus was a fundraising Tattoo to benefit The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario that took place in Ottawa in 1985. Since then, the group has performed in four-part harmony at several high-profile events and venues, including:
Expo '86 (Vancouver)
Vietnam Memorial (Washington, D.C.)
Fairfax County Police Department (Virginia)
The Chorus performs locally at senior citizen homes and local hospitals, as well as at special community and police events, and fundraising concerts that benefit local charities. They also travel to attend the annual Police Memorial Services in Ottawa and Cleveland, Ohio.
Practices are held every Tuesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Halton Regional Police Service Headquarters.
