Golden Lotus - The Musical 3.9

Screening of the world premiere of Golden Lotus which was filmed live in Hong Kong in September 2014. The screening will take place on May 31, 2015 at 810 pm at the Lebovic Centre for the Arts & Entertainment.

Golden Lotus is a musical adaptation of the most infamous Chinese novel of all time Jin Ping Mei (The Golden Lotus). The novel has been banned in China since 1687 for it's vivid portrayal of sexuality. Set during the dying war torn years of the Song Dynasty, Golden Lotus, is an epic drama about love, revenge and sacrifice. The music is an exciting fusion of contemporary pop/rock with Chinese harmonies and instrumentation. Book, Music & Lyrics by George Chiang. Directed by Emily Chan.
