The effort to save this 1932 set of buildings was formalized with our incorporation in 2005. Our mission is to preserve and restore the family home and coach house of the former Canadian senator and philanthropist Frank Patrick O’Connor – the founder of Laura Secord Candy Company at 354 Yonge Street in 1913.

The O’Connor estate is located in Don Valley East off of Victoria Park Avenue south of Ellesmere Road and north of Lawrence Ave East on the property of the Senator O’Connor College School which is associated with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Our vision for the 10,000 square foot home is to draw on the ideals of Frank O’Connor and to serve the educational, heritage, community and cultural interests of people of North York and Scarborough. The modernized facilities will be available starting in September 2011 for your cultural events, social gatherings, conferences and field days.

Our organization can only be sustainable with the generous support of our volunteer Board and the many stakeholders in the community and all levels of government – too many to name in this introduction! I thank these people sincerely for their dedicated support, time and expertise.
