Fashion On A Budget 1.75

The primary event handled by the Business Club, Fashion on a Budget, started in the second semester of 2014. The goal of the event is to enlighten students about the possibility of creating a professional look, worthy for an interview, while being constrained to a student budget. The participants last year were given $32.50 as its budget with the stipulation that they can only purchase from second-hand stores such as the Salvation Army, Interval Home, and Labis. Of course the participants and contestants were rewarded with prizes donated by sponsors.
Last years event garnered more participation between the two Lakeland College campuses, Lloydminster and Vermilion, and the local communities compared to its beginning in 2014. Mayor Rob Saunders was a guest judge; local business’ such as: The Goat, Newcap, MNP, Spiros, and Holiday Inn were notable contributors.
The total donations collected, which served as the entrance fee, after the event was then donated to the Lloydminster Men’s Shelter and the Interval Home. A fitting end to a night of education, fashion, and charity.
