Jamaica is known throughout the world for its easily recognizable music, but very few are musically literate and play instruments. In a country where the average wage is $60.00, music lessons and instruments are out of reach for most; the public school system does not have adequate resources to support music education.

Choir directors, choristers, music leaders, instrumentalists, etc. cannot read music; churches and schools do not have instruments; instrumental playing, if any, is limited to playing by ear and lacking in proper technique and knowledge of the instrument. Young and old desire to acquire music skill and understanding; church musicians, teachers and school students are eager and willing to learn, but who will teach them and provide needed resources?

ETS works with Jamaican churches & schools to accomplish a task the Jamaicans cannot presently do for themselves.
