Divine Birth: Birth Doula Services 2.1

My goal as a Doula is to assist Mothers in the Canmore/Cochrane/Calgary area and their partners through pregnancy and labour by providing them with physical, emotional support and information during this special time. My belief that every woman deserves to have their birth wishes respected/fulfilled started with my personal birth experiences with my two children.

Whether you are birthing at a hospital, at home or in a birthing centre, or want a natural birth, medical assisted birth or are unsure, your birth experience should be special for you. A Doula can encourage and empower you to breathe/follow through your wishes. As a Doula, I will respect your Birth Wishes and help you through the trials of labour with coping techniques of touch, massage, counter pressure, positive affirmations, and information. These techniques also help decrease (not prevent) interventions, cesarean sections, post-pardum issues and breast feeding problems.

Conception, pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond are all divine rituals that come to us naturally. I strongly believe that as women, our bodies know what they need to do to give birth, we just need a reminder to listen to our instincts and let the rhythm and ritual of birth take over and to relax our other impulses. This is where a Doula's skill set and training are valued.

As your Doula I can also help with your first latch and breast feeding questions up to two hours post pardum. Doula's are also great for calming and comforting the anxious and scared partner.

All women wish for the happy healthy pregnancy, followed by the happy healthy baby, why not have a happy healthy birth as well? You deserve it.
