I have been a professional birth and postpartum doula for 27 years. I teach childbirth preparation classes as well as a home birth seminar at Lower Mainland Childbearing Society.
My specialized birth doula service focuses on providing support for families choosing home birth with midwives.
I offer comprehensive service so families are completely set up for birthing at home and are well prepared. I include an Aquaborn birth pool and some accessories for water births or for comfort.
Home birth for low risk healthy pregnant women is safe. We are used to thinking that birth should take place in a hospital, given the impression that it is risky and dangerous to be at home. This isn't true. Home birth IS a safe option for healthy pregnant women. I support a couple's choice to birth at home.
