Are you a participant in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program?

We want to hear from you!

We are seeking participants for a study about the experiences of temporary foreign workers in Canadian workplaces.

We want to hear from you if:
- You came to Canada as part of the temporary foreign worker (TFW) program
- You currently hold a temporary work permit, or have held one in the past
- Your employer obtained an LMO/LMIA before hiring you

If you want to participate in this project, we will contact you for an interview. The interview will last thirty to sixty minutes, and will take place over the phone or using Skype. During the interview, you will be asked about your experiences working in Canada. We might ask questions like:
- How much contact do you have with permanent employees, with other temporary employees, and with your employer?
- What is your relationship with these different coworkers like?
- In what ways were your experiences different from what you expected? In what ways did they match your expectations?

We are researchers at McMaster University. We are trying to understand how the program has influenced your relationships with colleagues and employers. By participating in this project, you will be helping us document the impact of the temporary foreign worker program.

Participants will receive an honorarium of $25 for their help.

This project has been reviewed and approved by the McMaster University Research Ethics Board.

Any information shared before or during the interview will be kept confidential.

If you are interested in participating in this study, or if you would like more information about it, please contact: astamand@mcmaster.ca
