In a community such as Burlington, our Mayor, Rick Goldring, has often pointed out, it is easy to forget that a great many of our citizens are suffering hardship and poverty. That's where the Compassion Society steps in. From humble beginnings in Mina Wahidi's basement, the Compassion Society has grown from a single rack of donated clothes to one of the major contributors to the well being of our most vulnerable citizens. With the assistance of our sponsors, donors, staff and volunteers we are not helping literally thousands of Halton's needy citizens. We continue to provide clothing, food and community service referrals to all who require these fundamentals of decent living. We demonstrate respect, confidentiality, sensitivity, inclusion, desire for social justice and well being, and transparency in our finances.
