What We Do
- Assist families in educational, residential, and employment placements and transition planning for their family member with an intellectual disability.
- Provide public information sessions on disabling conditions and other topics of interest.
- Provide individual and family support.
- Arrange for respite caregivers.
- Provide recreational clubs for kids and teens and young adults throughout the school year.
- Provide various summer camps for children, teens and young adults.
- Provide monthly dances for adults throughout the school year.
- Provide training for young people beginning their careers working with persons who have disabilities.
- Through activities and sensory stimulation, Buddies staff provide a greater quality of life for the children who live in Parkridge.
- Activities based in the community, with a support person for children/youth with disabilities living in long term foster care.
