Welcome to the City Basketball Association (CBA), the GVRD’s first outdoor basketball league.

Previously, founders of the West Island Outdoor Basketball League (WIOBL), before known as the Real Outdoor Basketball League (ROBL) and founded in 1996 in the west-island of Montreal. At the time, the organization was coined by the Montreal Gazette as North America’s first outdoor summer basketball league. A badge we wear to this day with pride.

Now after being residents of the GVRD for almost 10 years, we feel it is time to re-launch the dream and give back to this generation and this community.

The CBA plans on launching its first inaugural season Summer 2016.

Here’s what makes the CBA unique and sets it apart from other sports organizations.

- The CBA is a non-exclusive concept basketball association that is open to all ages and all skill levels.
- All divisions are house-league and non-competitive in nature, there are no try-outs and qualifying for teams. Anyone can play.
- All games are played on Saturdays and Sundays which makes it easy for parents to attend games.
- Seasons are fairly structured, with minimum 14 games.
- Registration fees are fair with less over-head (no gym rental costs)
- The CBA is a non-profit.

We believe that this sets CBA apart from other local sports organizations. But most of all, all games are played outside, on asphalt basketball courts, the way we believe Basketball should be played.
