Overview
The Children’s Rescue Walk initiative intends to stop child trafficking by advancing awareness and action through education, research and activism.
The initiative will allow the problem of child trafficking to become more visible in the public sphere and enable a more conscious and engaging discourse on this issue in our communities.

The Children’s Rescue Walk is a walk to freedom.
Owen Caldwell, a 63 year old man from Halifax, N.S. and a victim of child trafficking himself is walking to Ottawa on April 12, 2016, in order to bring awareness to the issue of child trafficking in Canada. The walk will take 70 days to complete. Along the way, Owen hopes to collect and share the stories of victims and their families. These stories and updates will be available on the Children’s Rescue Walk Web site and Facebook page.
The initiative is intended to educate the public about the issues related to child trafficking and to provide a deeper understanding about preventable causes. In order to create a larger impact on rescue efforts for these voiceless victims, the issue must become visible and tangible.
To achieve these goals, we must learn to identify the fundamental causes and processes in order to stop an incident from happening, report an issue that may exist, or to rescue a victim from captivity.
A sound, moral and socially acceptable, and effective solution must be found in order to stop our children from becoming the victims of the human trafficking industry.
To be successful, The Children's Rescue Walk needs partners to support the walk and the awareness campaign.
