The Wakefield Centre serves residents from every area of the Municipalité de La Pêche including: Alcove, Edelweiss, East Aldfield, Farrellton, Lac Des Loups, Lascelles, Masham, Rupert and Wakefield, as well as Farm Point and Chelsea.

We especially acknowledge our four founding organizations: Theatre Wakefield, Wakefield Activities for Youth, Wakefield Library and Wakefield Recreation Association, who came together to conceive of and realize the amazing facility that is the Wakefield Centre, and who contribute to making Wakefield a special place to live, work and play.

1) Wakefield Recreation Association
Festivals – 4 per year averaging approx. 800 to 1,000 participants per festival
Activities include tobogganing, hiking, and snowshoeing,
Camps – March Break, Christmas break and summer camps
Sports – skating, soccer, skateboarding, volleyball, basketball
2) The Wakefield Activities for Youth (The WAY)
Promotes the positive development of youth in the La Pêche area
An open ‘Drop-In’ program every Tuesday and Thursday after school. Work placements for youth required to perform community service. Summer Camp program averages 144 children each year

3) Biblio Wakefield Library
More than 1200 active library members
Over 75 active volunteers
7,000+ visitors each year
150+ cultural activities every year
Voted ‘Best Library for its Size’ for the Outaouais region 2005
Open 20 hours per week with no paid employees
More than 14,000 books (in English and French), 51 magazine subscriptions and a large collection of videos and music CDs
