We offer therapeutic counseling services to families, couples, individuals and children.
We also offer family life education programs, which we take into the community and into our schools. Several of our family life education programs are offered free of charge, others have a nominal fee.
All of our services are available to everyone.

TAMING THE TIGER
This 6 week program provides children (ages 6 - 13) and their parents with a safe supportive environment to learn how to deal with anger.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of anger, how they react physically, emotionally when angry, and strategies to work through their anger in healthy ways. The parenting component provides effective techniques to deal with aggressive behavior.
Taming The Tiger is funded by the Ministry of Justice.



RIDING THE WAVE
This 6 week program assists parents and their children to:
• Understand and process the violence and abuse they have witnessed by listening, believing and validating their experiences
• Understand that abusive behavior and violence are unacceptable, involve choice; and that the abuser must take responsibility for his / her actions
• Learn skills to boost self-esteem, manage anger, problem solve effectively, and express feelings appropriately
Riding The Wave is funded by the Ministry of Justice.


CLIMBING THE ROCK
This 8 week program is for teens who have been affected by interpersonal violence. We provide behavioral skills oriented strategies to help young people overcome the personal struggles they encounter after being exposed to any form
of interpersonal violence.

CALMING THE STORM

This 6 week program offers participants safe and effective ways to express and release anger. It will help adult participants identify the sources of their anger; assist them in acknowledging the importance of these feelings; and offer strategies for coping with anger so anger does not dominate the individuals’ lives.

ACTIVE PARENTING

This 6 week program offers techniques to handle daily parenting problems. The workshop uses videos and group discussion to help you raise responsible, cooperative children. We demonstrate effective ways to use non-violent discipline techniques, improve communication with your children, stimulate independence as your child grows older and encourage your children to be their very best.

BANANA SPLITS
The goal of this program is to help children ages 6 -12 deal with parental separation, divorce and other stresses in a healthy way. This is an 8 week program (1 hour per week) or we also deliver the entire program in a day camp format.

BRIDGES PROGRAM

The BRIDGES Program is an Employment Initiative Program which focuses on assisting individuals to make a successful transition from the Provincial Correctional System into the community with the objective of securing employment.

COUNSELING:
We provide individual, couple, and family counseling in such areas as:

Relationships Conflict resolution
Family violence Depression
Eating disorders Grief & Loss
Separation & Divorce Addictions
Personal growth/enrichment

Fees for counseling are based on ability to pay. No one is denied service because of their economic situation.
Counseling is available to all regardless of their race, religion or age.
Counseling services are also available to various organizations and businesses through Employee and Family Assistance Programs.
