Details

The Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) is a community-based not-for-profit organization that provides free services for individuals affected by cancer. Services are practical in nature and are intended to create access and remove barriers to care, improve day-to-day quality of life and reduce the financial impact associated with a cancer diagnosis. Services fall into four categories:

1. transportation to and from cancer-related medical appointments;
2. loans of home health equipment โ€“ as many pieces as required for as long as necessary;
3. access to parking for appointments taking place at the Juravinski Cancer Centre (JCC) and Juravinski Hospital; and
4. personal care and comfort products including monthly issuances of oral nutritional supplements and adult incontinence products as well as the provision of wigs and alternative head coverings, breast prostheses and mastectomy bras.

Transportation support is available exclusively for residents of the greater region of Hamilton. All other services are available for residents of the greater region of Hamilton as well as surrounding communities.
