Our History
Calgary Cycle started as a mom and pop shop in 1931. The shop built a reputation for customer service and through the years became a large dealer of road bikes. In the late 80’s Calgary Cycle’s focus began to move towards the growing mountain bike segment due to our close proximity to the Rocky Mountains and all the world class riding. By the mid 90’s the store was becoming well known in the region for high end custom mountain bikes.
Our reputation for providing the best in customer service continues today. With Santa Cruz, Trek, IBIS, Knolly, Yeti and Devinci in our arsenal we have become one of the region’s largest custom bike dealers. We have fine tuned our inventory over the years to meet the needs of the most exacting consumer and as such our product lines have shifted to the more high end lines. We feel lucky to be able to work with such excellent products on a daily basis.
We do our best to help grow the sport responsibly through our DH and Road Race Teams and our Freeride and All Mountain Club group rides, hoping to get more people involved in the sport that we love.
Custom Fits
Our custom fits are included with all new bike purchases and are designed to ensure that you feel more comfortable and efficient so you can get the most out of your bike. We guarantee all our fits and suggest you put in at least 10 to 15 hours of riding to get used to bike. If you feel like you may need a change to the fit just give us a call and make an appointment for a re-fit.
Custom Suspension Tuning
We custom tune all the full suspension bikes we sell. Suspension settings are based on the type of bike, rider’s weight and riding style. Typically once the suspension is set up all you have to do is check and maintain your air pressure settings. We also custom tune the dampers on the bike. Dampers control the speed and resistance of the suspension travel. The rebound and compression damper settings will not change. Once set we recommend that you don’t make big changes to them. Any major adjustments can adversely affect the performance of the bike. We do provide you with all of your suspension settings that way, if you make any changes you’ll know what to go back to.
Lifetime Service Plan
The Calgary Cycle Lifetime Service Plan is free and is available to the original owner for the life of the bike. It includes normal adjustments to shifting, brakes, minor wheel truing, tightening loose external parts and making recommendations for worn or broken part.
