Calgary Art Club - aka: Arty Pants 2.08

The Calgary Art Club (aka Arty-Pants) is an exciting place for young people to hang out on Fridays in an environment designed to open up minds, and help creativity pour out all over some paper! The program is 6 weeks long, and we will be doing various projects, with a focus on learning different skills, and helping to take a look at the world around us in a more interesting and strange way. Looking at shapes and colours, and lines and feelings we will start with some basic projects and by the end of the sixth week try to create something abstract or surreal with some real thought and meaning behind it!

When you learn to see the world in a more interesting and complicated way, you have a greater appreciation for all the things around you!

All materials are included, and each 6 week block of classes will be something new. So if you like what we are doing, we encourage you to please come back for more! Heck, we will even give you a discount! Check out the registration page more more info!

At the end of the 6 weeks, we will have completed several smaller projects, weather permitting we will go out for at least one art walk around the neighbourhood, and one larger project that will take a couple classes. We are not limiting our choice of materials, and will be using paint, pastels, drawing, sculpture or whatever the job requires. We also like to have the children be a big part of what is happening, and are always interested in new and exciting art ideas.

It is an art club, with an emphasis on doing fun projects in a positive and helpful environment, where we can open up people's minds to the amazing world around us. That will always be our main goal. It is about an appreciation for art, and an attitude towards our world. And fun.. tons of fun.. because we are super duper fun.
