_Helping Travellers Make Better Travel Decisions_
At its core, Busbud offers a search tool allowing travelers to discover and plan their next bus trip. When you travel on a budget, you want to find the easiest and most economical way to get to your destination. You want accurate schedule and pricing information in order to make the best decision. Busbud shows available bus companies that offer service between cities, as well as destination pages where travelers can explore in/outbound connections between cities. Travellers will also soon be able to purchase bus tickets directly through Busbud.

_The Busbud Story_
In early 2011, Busbud co-founder Louis-Philippe Maurice backpacked for several months through South America on an eye-opening journey from the southern tip of Argentina to the mountains of Peru. Throughout these travels, Louis-Philippe had a difficult time finding trusted sources for bus travel information. Online research often led him to outdated bus company sites in a foreign language. In-person experiences at bus terminals were similarly frustrating.

“There must be an easier way to find accurate bus information when you travel.” This was the inspiration for Busbud.

Recruiting two childhood friends, technical co-founders Frederic Thouin and Michael Gradek, he embarked on the mission to make life easier for bus travelers around the world.

Launched in November 2011, Busbud is privately funded by angel investors and proudly based in Montreal, Canada.

_Our Core Team_
CEO Louis-Philippe Maurice holds an MBA from Harvard, a Master’s of Law from University of Montreal and a Bachelor of Finance from HEC Montreal. He’s an experienced product manager, avid traveler and professional photographer.

CTO Michael Gradek holds a Computer Engineering degree from McGill University, and is a Microsoft veteran who has worked on the Bing.com search engine for the last six years.

Chief Scientist Frederic Thouin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from McGill University, and is responsible for developing the data science technology behind Busbud.
