Build On / On Bâtit 2.44

Build ON is a FREE online pre-arrival service offered by the YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region. Build ON helps those who have been approved to immigrate to Canada learn about and prepare for work in Ontario’s skilled trades before they leave their home country. There is no cost to participate as the program is funded by the Government of Canada (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

Our service includes:

- One-on-one consultation with local employment experts
- Connecting you with Canadian support for before and after you arrive

Skilled trades are jobs in which a worker will normally spend most of their time working with their hands to either produce a product or offer a service. Some examples of more commonly known trades are Electrician, Carpenter, Welder, Automotive Technician, Hairstylist and Chef. There is a lot of demand across Ontario for people who want to work in these kinds of well-paying and respected jobs.
