Block 8 Academy 1.7

Block 8 Academy's Progressive Out of School Care creates an activities hub to help stressed parents cope with their hectic schedules while supporting their children’s academic, creative and physical development.

Located at Port Moody Arts Centre, our program includes:

* Shuttle or walking school bus service from local elementary schools
* 'Rhythms and Harmonies' - a year long music unit focussing on ukulele, rhythms, and singing
* An outdoor science unit
* cool community projects (depending on students' choices, they could be helping local refugee children, helping animals, raising money for a local charity ...)
* 'Our Multi-Cultural World', a unit on cultural differences
* a hands on unit on understanding money and making it work for you (Young Entrepreneurs Junior)
* unique opportunities to have workshops with resident artists
* homework club, for those students wanting to sign up
Tutoring that can be brought into the classroom

In addition, we provide access to additional studio class activities at surrounding businesses!!!!

We can ensure your children get to their piano, guitar, violin and voice lessons.

Or they can sign up for art, drama, music, dance, rhythmic gymnastics, musical theatre, or martial arts!

We deliver your child to the Activity, and then bring them back into care afterwards.
