Details

After discovering the local desire for knowledge surrounding natural birth, midwifery and the other elements in this field, mother, Beth Clark, BScN, RN was intent on sharing this information with her community. From this passion was birthed (pardon the pun), Beth Clark Birth Support.

BCBS is an organization that offers labour doula services as well as both prenatal and information classes to families interested in natural birth at either the hospital or at home. During these sessions we wish to equip you with quality information, empowering you to make informed choices surrounding your child's birth. Our labours do not always go as we plan and therefore we aim to provide you with quality information you can use no matter how your birth journey progresses. All birthing options are explained and discussed with emphasis on evidence based findings.

Parenting begins at pregnancy and the most encouraging start to this journey is to know YOU made the decisions revolving around birth, rather than your care giver. This decision-making starts with understanding all sides of the story and we want to help you wade through the information available to you!

Whether you are an expectant mother, a doubting/worried father or a couple discovering their options before pregnancy...you are all welcome here!

Information discussed will help answer your questions. What is a midwife? What are the stages of labour and what actually happens? What are the effects of medications such as epidurals and inductions on mom and babe? Is a home birth really safe? Can I handle the pain and what other pain management options are there for me? (plus much more!)

Come and join us for a thorough look at natural birth and find support for your labour of love!

Please visit our website for individual class descriptions! Thank you!

(Beth Clark is a mother of one (so far), holds her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse in the province of Ontario and the state of Minnesota. She is an avid champion for families who wish to know their natural birthing options. She organizes and holds these classes in hopes that the men and women who attend will feel encouraged, equipped with knowledge and empowered to make their own birthing choices.)
