The present building which is called "The Beaver Bank Station " was constructed by Daniel Hallisey in 1856 . It served as a hotel to the train station that was adjacent to it. Sir Robert Bordon was a frequent visitor to the hotel. This in later years became a telegraph and post office and served the community as such for the next 99 years. Officially named the " Hallisey House" by the Nova Scotia Heritage Society .
The present owners re-opened the Beaver Bank Station as a full service bar and grill at the request of many of the local residents , as they had no local establishment where they could relax, refresh and eat within the community.
