From the start, the Avalon set out to be a different kind of entertainment and dining experience for downtown Owen Sound, inspired by the Penny Farthing or Grossman's Tavern or Sacramento's old Shakeys, a family place for live music, and especially live jazz. Located in the heart of the city at 9th St E at 2nd Ave, the Avalon was all-ages all the time, family friendly and affordable, with Creole/Cajun cuisine, live jazz 5 nights a week, and live entertainment at our Sunday Brunch.

Menu items ranged from our Bourbon Shrimp to our Cajun/Creole specialties including jambalaya, chicken&waffles, biscuits&gravy and a real filé gumbo, creole-style burgers, cajun fries, po'boy sandwiches and cajun poutine!
