History:
In the mid-winter of 1957 – 58 the first steps were taken regarding the hall. It would appear that the breakup of 8 school districts (5 from AB; 3 from SK) was a factor. A void was created and the community spirit which had fostered the local schools needed a new outlet. The first recorded meeting took place at Warwickville School on Jan 15, 1958; a resolution to proceed was quickly adopted. Land for the site was donated to the Association by Norman Weidendorf, the legendary ‘Flying Dutchman” as he was known locally. A special meeting was held on June 15 to decide the type of building and source of material. The opening dance would be held on Feb. 06, 1959. The happy event took place as scheduled.
In 1969 there began talk to enlarge the hall. The annual meeting of 1971 directed the board to proceed with the addition. An army hut was purchased from the Wainwright Military Camp and moved into position immediately north of the hall and attached. Necessary renovations were made to make the Hall look like a united building.

The Alcurve Hall celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2009. Our long term goal is to build an addition onto the South side of the hall where their will be a new large entryway and handicap washrooms on the main floor.
