Rodina developed a love for music and poetry as a little girl. She began singing and making up dances to her favourite songs at the age of 9, then developed a knack for writing poems at the age of 11. With some of her musical inspirations being Michael Jackson, Mariah Carry, Janet Jackson, Jewel, Sarah McLaughlin and Alanis Morisette, she was deeply moved by Jewels story of how she made it to the top with just her guitar by her side. Inspired by the simple yet elegant style of Jewels music, as a young teen Rodina began teaching herself how to play guitar and turned her passion for poetry into music. For Rodina music was a way she could release and overcome some of her life experiences like love, anxiety and adolescent bullies, and she's turned her experiences into over 30 orginal songs over the years. She had an opportunity to record her own album in 2001 titled "Reflections of Venus", which she promoted by performing at most of the local Jam Nights in Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Thornbury and Meaford. As she met other artists at the Jam Nights she attended Rodina was touched by the support and encouragement in the local communities. She feels very honoured to now be apart of the Jam Night Circuit, hosting her own acoustic Jam Night at Wranglers Barn and Girll on Thursdays between 7pm-11pm to eat, drink, watch, perform and connect with others who share a passion for music.
