ABEL Enterprises has served the needs of our community by constructing custom woodworking and commercial furniture since 1984. While recognized as a progressive and high quality production facility, ABEL is also a non-profit agency which fosters social entrepreneurship. ABEL provides skill development opportunities and employment to more than 70 individuals in our community with mental health concerns. Skilled trades-people provide training and oversee the production of all products, creating an atmosphere where both the membership and the customer benefit.

In addition to the ABEL workshop, the ACE Program is designed to help individuals living with a mental health or addiction concern overcome obstacles that might prevent them from achieving competitive, sustainable employment.

Our employment counsellors assist clients in a number of ways, including:
One to one barrier assessment and employment counselling, leading to a Return to Work Action Plan
Cover letter / resume writing workshops
Interview practice and preparation techniques
Job search strategies
Internet job searches
