We very keenly queued up to experience the local delicacy; but in turn experienced a disgraceful and unimaginable behavior from the lady host. After waiting for 30 mins outside in bitterly cold, kids were thrilled to arrive at the door and be received by a lady. On seeing 3 families - total of 6 adults and 6 kids - the lady said we wont serve 12 people. I said "we are not 12. We are 3 families, and you can give us 3 tables separately."."Or if you are short of tables, you can sit us in any combination". She said 'we don't work like that and I wont stand here to argue with you. Leave!!'. I was speechless having never seen anything like this ever, in any part of the world. I asked if she wanted to be assured of some minimum spend per person or a family or a group - and we can commit to that. But - her response was a more aggressive "No. We can't serve you all. This is the way we work.". We left the place with disgust to never return. I can't imagine how can a shop ever survive with such pathetic attitude and rude behavior. It wasn't easy for us to respond to the kids' questions on what had just happened. These kids are raised in London, and have never experienced an iota of such rudeness, or unwillingness to serve customers!! And, we had to carefully brush it aside to keep them motivated to spend the rest of our planned time & resources in the town.. I hope the owners take note, before this outlet starts showing up as a blot and an embarrassment to the beautiful town of Bruges which has a lot to offer to the visitors.

The lady host wouldn’t even allow us inside as we were a group of 12. We were happy to sit on separate tables, but this lady just wouldn’t have it. So, after waiting for over half hour in the queue, outside in the cold, with young children, we were turned away. No matter how good those waffles taste, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff need to learn that we don’t live in the 80s anymore. Bad behaviour with customers can and should have negative impact on business. Only way to teach such people a lesson.
