There are still vestiges on the property.Since the late Middle Ages, the family of Chasteler has held a large part of land in the town of Moulbaix. In 1860, the medieval castle went through reconstruction and was transformed into an imposing neo-medieval building with English (Tudor Revival) architecture, all designed by architect Athois Désiré Limbourg. This was enacted at the request of the Marquis of Chasteler Oswald (1822-1865), a descendant of the Hainaut old family settled since the late Middle Ages in the village. The castle was restored under the direction of Limburg after a fire. The picturesque castle Tudor Revival style was designed in 1860 by architect Athois Désiré Limbourg. Burned and restored in 1889, the castle is part of an area of 62 hectares, including 2 hectares of landscaped park designed by landscape architect Louis Fuchs.Brick, limestone, and stone compose the foundation built. The building is flanked by four corner towers reinforced by octagonal turrets on all four sides. Eleven crenellated towers, Arrowslits, and Machicolation. Bartizan complement the wall battlements. The castle has 344 windows.
