Tehatta is the headquarters of the Tehatta subdivision in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The place has been a recent addition in the list of sub-divisions in the district of Nadia. Since its declaration as sub-division in 1996, it has seen development in infrastructure for setting up a base of state government offices. Tehatta is located beside the India-Bangladesh border area.DemographicsAs per the 2011 Census of India, Tehatta had a total population of 21,093, of which 10,736 (51%) were males and 10,357 (49%) were females.
