Activities:
Education Engineering Department(EED) under the Ministry of Education is an Education Institutional Infrastructure Development Oriented Engineering Department. In the 1960 start as an Engineering Cell Leaded an Engineering Advisor and one Executive Engineer with a very few Officials. Now Education Engineering Department is a large and well-known Engineering agency of Education Development Sector.EED is a Single Govt. Department in Educational Institute Developing Agency. Education Engineering Department is involved in Constructed Educational Institute and its Planning, Designing, Monitoring and Reporting of Development works. EED has Worked in Rural, Urban and Semi-Urban Areas in all Over the Country. EED Constructed, Reconstructed, Repairs and Renovation of Academic Building, Hostels Building, Examination Hall, Class Rooms, Laboratories, Libraries of Govt. and Non-Govt. Secondary School, College, Madrasha, New Establish University and Others Educational Institute. EED also Works in Developing Teacher’s Training Colleges, Vocational Training Institutes, Polytechnic Institutes, College of Leather Technology, College of Textile Technology, Engineering Universities, National University, Text Book Board, Secondary and Higher Education Board etc. EED Supply of furniture in Educational Institute in all over the Country. EED Developed in Educational Institute Water Supply and Sanitation.Besides, the EED is also involved in implementing Special Projects on Turnkey basis such as Construction of 14 Storied National University Building at Gazipur, Establishment of International Mother Language Institute, Bangabandhu Sk. Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University Kabi Nazrul University at Trisal Mymensingh, Comilla University, Begum Rokeya University, Barisal University, Jagannath University, Pabna Science & Technology University, Barisal University, Barisal Engineering College. Magura Textile Engineering College etc.The Success of Education Engineering Department is Noteworthy and has Set up an Example; in Serving the Developing Issues not only for Construction, Re-construction, Repair and Renovation and Supply of Furniture, Water Supply and Sanitation of Educational Institutions, but also for the Human Resources Developed by Developing Infrastructure Education.
History:
1960 start as an Engineering Cell Leaded an Engineering Advisor and one Executive Engineer with a very few Engineers and Officials. In 1986 this Cell Established as Facilities Department under Education Ministry. In the year 2001 Facilities Department Become a Department named by Educational Engineering Department (EED). Now Education Engineering Department is a large and well-known Engineering agency of Education Development Sector.The Head Quarter of Education Engineering Department is situated at Shikkha Bhaban 2nd Block, Nabab 16 Abdul Ghani Road, Dhaka-1000. One Chief Engineer, One director (admin & Finance) two Superintending Engineer, One Deputy Director, Large Number of Executive Engineer, Assistant, Sub Assistant Engineer and Supporting Officials are in Head quarter. At fast EED started 8 Nos of Zones and 64 Assistant Engineer offices. Now EED Expanded 5 Nos of Circle Offices, 38 No of Executive Engineer offices, 64 Assistant Engineer offices in District level and 481 Sub Assistant Engineer office in Upzilla Offices, Worked Large Number of Expired Engineer, Officers and Officials in all over the country. In Education Sector EED Implement Development of Infrastructure around 1500 core Annul Development Budget. Secondary and Higher School, Colleges, New Establishing University, Technical Intuition etc. including in this ADP. EED have Large Number of Development Work in Around the Country. But Comparatively EED Implement Large Budget by the short Number of Engineer and Logistic Support. So this Department need More Engineers and Officials and More Logistic Support for better Service and Quick Implement the ADP of Government. Despite Achieving Success in Implementation of the Govt. Policy Regarding Development of Educational Infrastructure the Education Engineering Department has long been Suffering from the shortage of Required Number of Personnel and lack of Necessary logistic to Carry forward its Broad based Activities Effectively Around the Country.We urge the Government to look these problems and to take appropriate steps soon so that the Education Engineering Department can overcome all of its organizational impediments and can be able to implement the development activities speedily bringing revolution in constructing academic buildings throughout the country.
