Koyra Upazila (KHULNA district)
with an area of 1775.41 sq km, is
bounded by PAIKGACHHA upazila
on the north, the BAY OF BENGAL
and the SUNDARBANS on the
south, DACOPE upazila on the
east, ASSASUNI and SHYAMNAGAR
upazila on the west. Main rivers
are Shibsa, Pasur, Kobadak,
Dharla, Malancha, Ball,
Arpangachhia.
Koyra (Town) consists of one
mouza. It has an area of 10.06 sq
km. The town has a population
of 8636; male 47.95%, female
52.05%. The density of
population is 861 per sq km.
Literacy rate among the town
people is 31.3 %. It has one
dakbungalow.
Administration Koyra thana was
established in 1980 and was
turned into an upazila in 1983.
The upazila consists of 7 union
parishads, 72 mouzas and 131
villages.
