History
Govt Science College Gate

This historical college started from 1954 in the name of Technical High School. But, in 1962 this school changed its name as "Intermediate Technical college". In 1985, the college started the BSc course and changed its name as Government Science College. At first This college had only science department. But from 2009, it has also included commerce.After continuing 4 years,from 2013,administration decided to go with only science.so now it is completely a science college.
Specialty

Regular class and lab work for first year and second year.If anyone miss the class then he is punished strictly.They have to pass in the preliminary test to qualify for seating on HSC exam.Otherwise they cannot attend to the board exam. Teachers are so much helpful and friendly there.Students get extra help from them any time.Specially in practical lab and class.A Final test and model test is taken after test exam. College result is published in GPA scale.

Rules and regulation

Must be present in the class within 9 am in proper dress.
90% presence in mandatory.
ID card must be carried. With out this no student will be allow to join in.
Students must contain high moral attitude.
Political work is highly restricted in the college. If any student is connected with any political parties, he will be dismissed at once due to the negative
effects of politics.
This college is free from any smoking.

Math, Biology, Engineering Drawing.( any 2)

Please note that very few college has Engineering Drawing subject in Bangladesh.Govt. Science College is one of them. The college doesn't allow with out math. If anyone is interested studying science without Math, Then he must do things at his own risk.
Hostels

This 50 years old college has two hostels for the students. For first year students the hostel name "Dr. Kudra-i-Khuda" is allocated. And, "Kazi Nazrul Islam Hostel" for the Second year students.
