Survival is an every day struggle for Bangladesh’s marginalised communities. Friendship brings life-saving services to some of the world’s poorest people living in the most inaccessible areas in Bangladesh.

In the 1990s, adventurer Yves Marre sailed a river barge from France to donate it for use by the people of Bangladesh. The barge was converted into Friendship’s first floating hospital. We now have three hospital ships.

Our work with the poor began with Healthcare, but we soon realised that to make a lasting impact on people’s lives we had to resolve other issues at the same time to break the cycle. We now fund six programmes: Health, Education, Disaster Management, Good Governance, Cultural Preservation and Sustainable Economic Development.
