Dhaka Polytechnic Institute is a government technical institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh.HistoryEast Pakistan Polytechnic Institute, Dacca was established in May 1955 by Oklahoma State University-Stillwater with funding from the Ford Foundation. By the mid-1960s it had become Dacca Polytechnic Institute.DirectoratesThe institute operates under the executive control of the Ministry of Education(MOE) acting through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The academic programmes, curriculams are maintained under the regulation of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). BTEB function under Directorate of Inspection and Audit (DIA), which in turn function under Chief Accounts Office (CAO), and it function under MOE.CampusThere are Four multi-storied buildings on campus.Admission Procedure and EligibilityThe admission procedure is according to the technical education board. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) takes an admission test for the candidates who want to get admitted in polytechnic institute. The students who are in the merit list are admitted in the institute according their merit position. If any seat remains vacant, the seat is filled up calling students from the waiting list. The admission result and the name of selected candidates are published in the notice board.The candidates must have minimum GPA 3.5 in SSC or equivalent examination to be qualified to apply for the admission. The candidates have to get eligible grade in general math and higher math determined by DTE.
