Bangladesh Railway Officers' Club, Lalmonirhat 3.7

Railway officers’ club Lalmonirhat was established in nineteen century.The objective of the club-is to provide recreation for Railway officers and others who are admitted as members of the club and to do all such other things as are incidental and conducive to attainment of the objects as set forth in these rules. The income and property of the club whence-sever derived will be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects of the club.

Recreation Facilities:
Club has following recreational & sporting facilities for his members only
Lawn Tennis
Table Tennis
Badminton Court indoor & outdoor
Mini theatre
Billiards & Snooker

Facilities for Functions/Party
Club has wide hall room with central stage suitable for gathering 150-200 persons, kitchen, green room for drama, bride room, lawn, parking area.

Member:

The members of this club are the following Categories:
i) Railway Member
ii) Non-railway Member
iii) Foreigner Member

Member Admissions Procedure

i) Railway Members:
Membership is open to all serving and retired officers of the Railway not below the rank of Assistant officer residing at Lalmonirhat.

Officer’s serving under Lalmonirhat Railway Division not holding office/residence at Lalmonirhat is also entitled to become Railway members.

Officer’s working under Railway police at Lalmonirhat is also entitled to become Railway members.

Membership of a new comer shall be automatically takes place on payment of monthly subscription.

They are the voting members.

ii) Non-Railway members:
Officers of other services-like Government semi- Government or non-Government serving at Lalmonirhat. whose rank equivalent to that of A Class I officer of Railway is entitled to become as non-Railway member of the club, provided their applications is unanimously approved by the managing committee. Willing persons need to be applied for membership on prescribed form. the total number of such members. Shall not exceed 25% of the Railway member’s.

iii) Foreigner members:
foreigners working & Residing at Lalmonirhat having status like Railway members of Para (i) is entitled to become foreign member.Procedure of admitting such member is same as in Para (ii).

The admission of members and the rights privileges and Liabilities of the members are governed by club rules. Every member shall be bound by the rules and bye-laws of the club.

The membership shall count from the date from which the application for the same is accepted or the prescribed fees are paid, Whichever is later.

The wives/husbands of the members shall enjoy all the normal facilities available to members without any extra payment, but they shall not have any right to vote and they shall have not any share in the management of the club. The members shall be responsible for his wife s/her husband’s compliance with the rules and bye-laws of the club.

Fees & subscription:
The following shall be the rates of entrance fee and subscription.

Managing Committee:
The affairs of the club is managed by a managing

Committee consisting of the following:
i) DRM, President
ii) DEN, Honorary General Secretary
iii) Vice President
iv) Games Secretary
v) Recreation Secretary
vi) Treasurer
vii) Office Secretary
viii) Entertainment Secretary
ix) Library Secretary
x) Welfare Secretary


Hiring of club for functions:
Normally the following procedure shall be adopted for Booking of the club;
1) The applicant shall fill up standard application form
2) After obtaining permission from Hony. Secretary, the desired charges shall be paid in cash to the treasurer.
3) Submit the cash slip to the secretary for confirmation.

Booking Charges:
There shall be following charges for booking;
Hall only for 6 hrs- BDT 3000
Hall & Lawn for 6hrs- BDT 5000
Lighting (optional)- BDT 1500
