Azam Khan Govt. Commerce College (AKCC), Khulna. 5.89

Azam Khan Govt. Commerce College, Khulna was established in 1953 as an
Intermediate College (night shift only) for commerce students. In 1954 AKCC it added its
day shift was also upgraded to a Degree college. Subsequently, the night shift was closed.
The college was named after the then Governor of East Pakistan General Azam Khan.
In 1963 AKCC inroduced Honour´s course in commerce under Rajshahi University. After
the emergence of Bangladesh Master´s courses in Accounting and Management were
introduced in 1972 and two more honours courses in Finnance & Banking and Marketing
were added in 2004. AKCC was nationalized in 1979.
AKCC earned name and fame nationwide from the very inception as an specialized higher
educational institution for studies in commerce.
