শিক্ষা চত্বর-EDUCATION SQUARE
On 9th September,2015 students of East West University gathered on this place. They were protesting against imposed vat on education in a rate of 7.5%. Police suddenly shoot them.Around 25 student and Additional registrar of the university were hardly injured.
They continued their protest for 6 day.They blocked the Rampura Bridge.Daffodil International University,American International University Bangladesh - AIUB,Dhaka University,North South University,Jagannath University,Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and many other university support them.They also protested in their campus.
On 14th September Government withdraw vat from education.
The protest proves the power student.It was a non-violent student movement.
Student declared the name of this place as শিক্ষা চত্বর(EDUCATION SQUARE).
