UOW Food Enthusiast Society 2.78

The University of Wollongong, Food Enthusiast Society (or UOWFES) was founded in November of 2015 as part of the UOW Clubs and Societies program. UOW as of 2016 contains over 120 clubs and societies, actively contributing the the day to day on campus activates at UOW and enhancing the experience of all students on campus.
UOWFES guides their society under the founding principles outlined within their inaugural general meeting and constitution during 2015. These values are as follows:

Promote good health and wellbeing through developing knowledge of food and nutrition

Create a cultural bonding experience through a shared love of food

Provide an affordable and unique experience for all University of Wollongong students

Support our local community through promoting local eateries

Foster relationships by supporting other clubs and societies of the University of Wollongong

Enhance employability skills in the food industry through short educational courses

These founding values are what has already guide UOWFES to become one of the most successful clubs on campus thus far in 2016. During our first major event, O-Week as a club we were able to successfully sign up over 700 new members in a three day period. Additionally to this, during our Clubs Day campaign we recruited over an additional 220 students and have a daily sign up rate of approximately 12.2 new members.

In UOW clubs and society history, they have not had a club with such a record of sign ups or even a club with such success that we have already had during this 2016 calendar year.

UOWFES throughout 2016 strives to become one of the most active and most successful clubs on campus as we continue to grow and expand throughout the year and beyond.
