Tuggeranong Homestead’s convenient location and bush setting offers a tranquil and private alternative venue, ideal for your successful event or occasion.

Featuring a full commercial kitchen, liquor licence and many Homestead rooms, outbuildings and outdoor spaces, with gardens. Tuggeranong Homestead caters for groups large and small.

This unique venue also offers the opportunity for exclusive private use if desired.

Tuggeranong Homestead caters for small and larger groups for all types of functions such as anniversaries, engagement parties, Christmas parties, reunions, weddings, conference, workshops, training etc.

Indoor and outdoor options can be combined for total seating of up to 150 people.

A venue hire charge applies in addition to the catering costs.

A variety of events, corporate, community or private, have been successfully held at Canberra’s historic Tuggeranong Homestead.

The extensive grounds cover 31 hectares and are suitable for a wide range of outdoor events such as displays, cricket matches, car rallies, festivals, musical performances, etc.

Café Garden

The garden area includes seating for over 150 guests. It is sandstone paved with tasteful granite garden tables, a backdrop of heritage trees and grassed areas. This area is very popular for pre-dinner drinks and canapes. There is also a more enclosed courtyard area ideal for your ceremony or photo opportunities.

Homestead
There are 5 rooms within the Homestead available for your use. Combinations are flexible.

The Drawing Room is suitable for up to 46 guests seated, or more if in a cocktail configuration. This attractive room showcases an oak fireplace from the original Homestead, Wanniassa House, c1836, as well as a marble fireplace, chandelier and buttress ceiling. For over a century, this room has been used as a formal entertaining room for many occasions.

The CEW Bean Room is suitable for up to 46 guests seated, or more if in a cocktail configuration. This function room was used by Dr CEW Bean, World War 1 war correspondent and historian.

The Sunroom is an extensive north facing enclosed verandah with seating for up to 40 guests. It overlooks the outdoor café garden area.

The Clare Room and The Blue Room can be connected to the Sunroom and provide additional seating for 15 guests each.

Machinery Shed & Marque
This is a romantic traditional farm building. Hardwood framed and corrugated iron clad with slab and wood floors, it offers a rustic, country and relaxed environment, truly evocative of Australian country life. It has a capacity of up to 150 guests.

Outside the Machinery Shed is further seating for your guests to enjoy and, fire restrictions permitting, a fire pit is also added to the country ambience.

Bandstand
The garden features many spots from a more formal backdrop water fountain, to pretty spots around the garden for both ceremonies and photos.

We offer a range of menu styles and prices:
• Canapes – a selection of popular or gourmet foods
• Buffet – a range of hot or cold meal selections, quality meats and roast vegetables and salads lots of choices

Our costs are generally on a per person catering and support services price plus venue hire. Rates vary reflective of the number of people and the use of technical facilities.
