At Tin Can Bay P-10 State School, we aim to achieve the best educational outcomes for every student. Our School Vision, ‘A Positive Future’, can be achieved by students who acquire the knowledge, attitudes and skills to be learners for life and who strive to achieve their personal potential. Our school motto is 'Striving for the Best'.
In addition, we believe that students need to have the social skills, self discipline and networking skills to be constructive community members.

Tin Can Bay P-10 State School was opened as a purpose-built P-10 school campus in 1999. Over the past few years, Tin Can Bay P-10 State School has grown significantly, with students enrolments increasing.

Key strategic achievements over the past year that have maximized our opportunities and addressed our challenges include:
- Implementation planning of the 'You Can Do It' and 'KidsMatters'
- Strategic planning focusing on the National Partnership Agenda;
