Thrive Launceston is a local business offering individual counselling, group sessions and nature walks
It has grown out of Cecily's experience working with children in a primary school for the last 8 years.
Thrive Launceston aims to help children, young people and adults to:
- understand themselves better
- connect with others and develop stronger relationships with people around them
- connect with nature and enjoy the benefits that come from getting outside
- connect with 'the beyond' by finding their place and purpose in the world
Thrive Launceston provides a safe space to experience new ways of doing things so you can make new brain pathways and new ways of being you.
Cecily draws from a number of counselling approaches and applies them uniquely to each person. These approaches include:
- Interpersonal neurobiology
- Attachment theory
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Art therapy
- Mindfulness
- Solution-focused therapy
Physical activity is also an important principle in the approach Cecily takes.
Cecily is a Registered Nurse and a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. She is registered with the Tasmanian Government to work with vulnerable people and has a current first aid certificate.
Cecily has worked with people around the following issues: grief and loss, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm, family violence and developmental trauma.
Thrive Launceston costs $80 per individual session (up to one hour).
