OUR SERVICES

Manual Therapy – a range of soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques may be incorporated into the early treatment program to reduce pain and increase mobility and flexibility, and is supported with a home stretching program

Clincal Pilates - following a comprehensive assessment and goal setting, an individual program is devised to directly address the underlying pathology and dysfunction, and improve issues with pain, weakness, muscle imbalance and compromised function. A combination of equipment and mat based exercises are taught with a focus on correct and safe technique. Exercises are progressed in line with improvement, and home exercises are an integral part of the Clinical Pilates program

Antenatal and Postnatal Pilates – individual and class work focuses on correct training of the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy and after the birth of your child. Attention is paid to your changing posture, and safe positions for exercise to avoid overstraining your back and abdominal wall. Pelvic instability and continence issues are also addressed.

Pain Management – for pain that is persistent, and often resistent to more traditional and “hands-on” treatment such as massage and manipulation, extensive research supports a “hands-off” approach to managing the pain and can often incorporate a number of practitioners working with you. The aim is to support you to control and manage your pain using a wide range of physical and psychological strategies.

Corporate Pilates classes and workshops - Pilates classes and workshops can be tailored for your organisation, and can form a valuable part of your health and wellness strategies for staff.

As trained Physiotherapists and Clinical Pilates practitioners we focus on working with you to achieve your health goals, whether it is to improve your core strength and control, reduce pain, improve your posture, improve your balance, recover from surgery and injury, or to improve your performance in Dance and Sport. We develop individual and group sessions for you that are safe, target your needs and are at the right level of challenge for you. We offer a range of classes that include Clinical Pilates and mat classes.

During your sessions you will use a range of equipment. This may include the Pilates Reformers and Trapeze Table, plus a range of small equipment including the Barrel, “Magic Circle”, rollers, fitballs and resistive bands.

GETTING STARTED

To get started you will need an initial consultation. Depending on your needs and the class you wish to attend you may require a further 2 – 4 individual sessions before you start a class. This ensures your core activation technique is correct and you are safe with the equipment. If you choose, ongoing individual sessions are also an option.
