The Woodland Child Family Day Care is underpinned and reflective of current educational research and practice. As an educator I take inspiration and guidance from a range of sources, and adapt them to "The Woodland Childs" unique context and home environment.
I am influenced by Reggio Emilia schooling, nature/forrest schools, emergent and child lead learning and my past experiences while working in both preschool and primary school settings. I am passionate about learning alongside children as a co learner and facilitator rather than the traditional transmission model of learning.

The learning invitations and journeys that are undertaken will be varied and unique to the children who attend, but there are core beliefs that underpin "The Woodland Child"
Family Day Care.

- That children are whole people who have feelings, ideas and relationships with others, and who need to and have a right to be physically, mentally and morally healthy.

- That children learn best when they are given appropriate responsibility, allowed to make errors, decisions and choices, and respected as autonomous learners.

- We come from a strengths based approach where focus is on what a child can achieve (rather than what they cannot do), seeing them as capable and competent.

- Providing authentic and "real life" learning invitations that can be connected and transferred into their everyday experiences and relationships.

The Woodland Child Family Day Care is registered with an approved provider - Little Muffins Family Day Care and are able to provide CCB and CCR to eligible families.
