The Queensland Department of Education and Training (DET) delivers world-class schooling services for more than 550,000 students in diverse communities across Queensland.

We employ more than 40,000 state school teachers in a range of teaching and specialist roles covering primary, junior secondary, and secondary levels. Our school environments vary greatly in size and location, from one-teacher schools to schools with more than 2,000 students, and stretch into every corner of Queensland from the Torres Strait and Cape York Peninsula in the north, to the borders of New South Wales, and the Northern Territory in the west.
