Tadpoles Samford Philosophy:

Our vision is to create a care and educational environment that surpasses theoretical and practical ideology and values and is seen to be a leader within the early childhood field in our endeavour to construct and provide an environment that nurtures, empowers and educates.

Our Mission

We aspire to provide a comfortable engaging home like environment where each child and their family feel welcome and 'at home'. An environment where each child and their family feel physically and emotionally safe and secure and which offers emotional, psychological and physical stability. We endeavour to cultivate a partnership with families to provide the highest quality of care for each child that is based on equity and the immediate needs of the family and child.

We recognise that families are the principle influence in their children's lives and therefore strive to develop close links with the home so that we can support and complement each other in the significant role of nurturing children through the early childhood years.

In partnership with families we will create an environment that facilitates success and supports and encourages children to be ‘lifelong learners’ whilst developing in each child a strong and positive sense of self identity and self-concept with a strong belief in who they are and what they believe they are able to achieve and be. Within this environment children will develop the skills and attributes that will later enable them to be well balanced responsible contributing members of the community.

We believe that children learn best through play which most advantageously occurs in a child focused environment where children have access to periods of uninterrupted play through which to explore, test and expand their existing ideas and knowledge. The children’s interactions with staff, their peers and the natural and man-made environment will facilitate the enhancement of children’s innate curiosity and essential learning skills such as enquiry, investigation and discovery.

The curriculum will develop children’s awareness of the multiplicity of the world’s cultures, of human difference and likeness and to celebrate and take pleasure in this variety, diversity and similarity. The program interlaces child initiated and adult extended play within an environment which facilitates structured spontaneity incorporating each child's immediate needs and interests. The children will be encouraged to explore, utilise and extend upon the abundant natural and man-made resources specifically provided and discovered within the environment t support the acquisition and extension of the knowledge that will be necessary to 'achieve' in later formal education, the workplace and life.
