Fuelled by a hatred of the stark, boring laundromats of the world, we set out on a mission to turn the tide. A mission not to rid Melbournians of Laundry Day but, instead, to celebrate it. We at Soap Bar are of the opinion that Laundry Day can be a day we look forward to: a day not shunned and procrastinated over, but a day that is welcomed in open arms with a great big hug like the one you give your freshly tumble-dried threads; a day destined to leave you feeling that yes, you did achieve something productive and yes, maybe you met someone and had a nice little chat over a coffee, or a game of Jenga. Or maybe I'm rambling. Doesn't mean I'm lying.

We opened a few months back, and are newly fitted out with all brand new top of the range commercial machines that result in extremely good results in only 30 minutes. These things are bolted into the floor so they can reach incredibly high spin speeds and extract up to 2kg more water than others, meaning less drying for you!

Our large gas powered dryers are big enough for doona's and heat up instantly, unlike the electric ones that other laundrettes may use. That means your clothes dry faster and it costs you less!
Our current prices are:
9kg Washers: $6.00 per cycle (approx 2 baskets capacity)
14kg Washers: $8.00 per cycle (approx 3 baskets capacity, doonas etc)
14kg Dryers: $1.00 per 8 minutes (average load takes $3 to $4 to dry)

Our cafe section is currently under construction and should be supplying a range of snacks and refreshments soon, so watch this space..
